Hey there, I’m using a fiber based sediment filter (its not a candle filter) to filter water before boiling. The thing is 6 months old and I called in the company to service it (The water started to have a brown tinge and off taste). While servicing I had the option to purchase a new fiber filter but I declined because the fiber filter did not look that dirty. The technician cleaned the filter by rubbing the fibers with a screw driver so I offered him a rough sponge. That sponge was used just once before to clean a new plastic stool/chair. Now the thing is, that sponge did previously have powdered laundry detergent on it to clean the stool. The same sponge was used two hours later to clean the fibers in the white fiber water filter. If the fibers of the white fiber filter did get mildly contaminated with the powdered laundry detergent, What Irritable symptoms would I be facing? P.S if ya do have a sediment filter with white fibers, do not boil to sterilize, the fibers tear off.
