I have a Pur facet mount and took the filter out only to realize I didn’t have another one. The idea was to keep it in for a few days until I got another one… that was over a month ago.
the water seems fine, what effects or how much impurities could i be consuming… or do you think it’s fine.
The tap water at my school has a lot of chlorine in it and brita filters don’t take the taste out. I was wondering is zero water filtered out the chlorine taste.
If the water filter isn’t the right one, what type of water should i use?
I spend $35 to replace the carbon filter on my water filter/pitcher every few months. Would the activated carbon used by home distillers be as good an option to filter my water? The exact brand I’m thinking about is Prestige stone activated carbon (.4-1.4mm), and I would be running it through a coffee filter in the existing housing on my water pitcher.
Can any chemists – amateur or professional – tell me if this would be a good or bad idea?
I just moved and couldn’t hook up my water filter to the new house’s faucet because I didn’t have the right adapter. I have now bought the adapter, and hooked it up. I’m just wondering, since I didn’t flush it prior to moving, it’s had water sitting in the chamber for a couple of weeks. Would that water, sitting over the charcoal and stuff int he filter, cause it to go bad, or even begin to spread bacteria?
Okay, so I bought a Pur water filter pitcher so that I would stop buying so much bottled water, with the intention to be more environmentally friendly.
The time just came to replace the cartridge for the first time. What do I with the old cartridge? Can it be recycled at all? I don’t like thorwing things in the trash if I don’t have to.
What do you guys think about Crystal Quest products? Is it one of the better ones or not?
Or what about the Water Filters at walmart- which one is better to go for?
(Just trying to decide which Water Filter is the best to use, for when I finally do buy one.)
