I have an amana 26 inch refr. that has always had cooling and ice making problems, the unit has almost never worked. I have 2 coils replaced which last about 8 months to a year and then I have to replace again. The water filter hasnt been replaced in years, could this be why I am having this problem or am i just throwing away another 40 bucks?

The filter should be replaced because it’s been a year and the water flow has slowed down; I dont feel like buying a new on though.

I purchased a new refrigerator a little over a year ago that has an ice maker and water dispenser on the front door. There is a filter indicator on the inside that counts down when it’s time to change the water filter. I have used the water dispenser twice since it was purchased and the ice maker is turned on once every 3 month if not longer. Should I change the water filter when the indicator says it’s time or can I wait much longer?

I just purchased a new refirgerator with a built in ice maker and water dispenser. The problem is, I have a water softener and did not have the refrigerator water bypassed. I do have a R/O filter under the sink for drinking water and was wondering if the filter on the refrigerator was enough to filter the water.
