Until recently, I have had a countertop water filter/cooler that does not need to connect to a water faucet. It was perfect; however, it broke and now I’m looking for something similar to this but cannot seem to find one aywhere =( Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

I have a brita water filter and I followed the directions when I opened the filter and soaked it for 15 minutes and I have been filtering water for a couple months now. Do I still need to keep it soaked in water all the time now? I don’t always remember to fill it up so I was just wondering if it was unhealthy or not good or something…

I know if I make a natural water filter out of progressive stages (gravel, sand, rushes etc) these get better with time as the gaps are filled up and so the water is more finely filtered – however with my shop bought water filter they say I have to buy a new one every month – does not the same principal apply or is there some sort of chemical reaction going on too?

The water and ice from my door dispensor have an undesirable taste so I am looking for a recommendation as to what filter I could use to eliminate this.

I purchased a new refrigerator a little over a year ago that has an ice maker and water dispenser on the front door. There is a filter indicator on the inside that counts down when it’s time to change the water filter. I have used the water dispenser twice since it was purchased and the ice maker is turned on once every 3 month if not longer. Should I change the water filter when the indicator says it’s time or can I wait much longer?
